That’s why we’re building One!Lab, our model development platform that helps tackle real-world challenges—from managing financial risks to fighting financial crime. Team Neptune is the driving force behind the platform’s latest spin-off, Open!Lab, an AI experimentation environment and we’re looking for a passionate Lead Azure Platform Engineer to guide us forward. 

Your Mission 

You’ll take technical leadership of a cross-functional squad (team Neptune), shaping the Azure-based analytics and AI experimentation environment (Open!Lab), and making sure it’s secure, stable, scalable—and inspiring to use. Whether it’s solving complex network issues or integrating cutting-edge AI tools, your work will directly support a diverse, talented user base across the bank. 

You’ll lead by example—coaching engineers, championing best practices, and bridging strategy with delivery. You will closely work together with your IT lead advising on technical issues and helping to steer the team in the right direction. And you’ll do it while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing engineering culture. 

We’re looking for someone with an open personality, a strong sense of curiosity, and a hands-on go-fix mentality—someone who’s not afraid to take ownership, ask the right questions, and drive real progress. 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Shape the future of our new AI and analytics platform (Open!Lab), guiding its evolution with a strong focus on scalability, security, and innovation. 
• Technically lead a cross-functional engineering team, mentoring talent, setting technical direction, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. 
• Design and maintain robust infrastructure using Azure ML, Databricks, OpenAI, Terraform, and other cutting-edge Azure services. 
• Engage with stakeholders across the organization—translating complex needs into elegant platform solutions and a clear strategic direction. 
• Champion automation and security, driving continuous improvement and ensuring a smooth, secure experience for thousands of data users. 

What You Bring 

• 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years focused on Azure-based data platforms. 
• Proven expertise in deploying and managing large-scale analytics environments. 
• Deep experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform). 
• Strong grasp of Azure ML, Databricks, App Services, OpenAI, RBAC, and Entra. 
• Solid knowledge of network architecture and platform security. 
• A confident communicator, equally comfortable guiding engineers and advising senior stakeholders. 
• Bonus points for strong Python skills and a passion for automation. 
• Based in the Netherland, with a valid work permit for the Netherlands.
